Offshore oil and gas extraction workers are prone to significant occupational fatigue owing to physically and cognitively demanding work in extreme temperatures over extended periods of time. Fatigue Risk Management Systems, a data-driven approach designed to monitor, control, and manage fatigue-related risks, is typically adopted to address worker fatigue issues; however, its implementation and evaluation in offshore environments are limited. We conducted a longitudinal survey study (N=101) to investigate workers’ experiences with organizational-level and individual-level FRMS practices and self-reported fatigue levels over the course of a 21-day hitch (work period) across multiple offshore platforms in the Gulf of Mexico.Â
